The garment machinery industry, ready-to wear manufacturers and investors come together at the IGM 2022 Exhibition, the most comprehensive meeting point of the industry. There is an intense participation demand to the IGM Exhibition, whose sales continue at full steam, and moreover, the exhibition also receives support from industry representatives and unions.
Emphasizing that Turkey is one of the largest ready-to-wear manufacturers in the world, Denizli Exporters’ Association Chairman of the Board Hüseyin Memişoğlu stated that the largest export partner is Europe. Underlining that due to both our geopolitical position and fast delivery time, the sector stands out one step ahead, and hence, European importers preferred Turkey more for their orders during the pandemic period, Hüseyin Memişoğlu continued his statement as follows: ‘‘The European brands shifted their orders to our country. The numbers also support this outlook. When the last 12 months’ data are analyzed, we observe that the export of our country’s ready-to-wear industry to Europe has reached 15 billion dollars with an increase of 20 percent.
In our sector, which has increased its exports and production, the capacity utilization rates are above 80 percent. The sector, which exports to more than 200 countries as of today, has an important place in Turkey’s exports.’’
‘‘We Miss Exhibitions So Much’’
Expressing the contribution of international exhibitions to exports, Hüseyin Memişoğlu finalized his words as follows; ‘‘Foremost, we missed the exhibitions very much. Many exhibitions have been canceled or postponed during the pandemic period. The largest organizations where buyers and sellers meet are, of course, exhibitions. The contribution of international exhibitions to our exporting sectors is quite high.
At the IGM Istanbul Garment Machinery, Sub-Industry and Spare Parts Exhibition to be held on September 8-11, 2022, I think that the innovations in machinery and technology products will be followed closely by the visitors. I wish the IGM 2022 Exhibition to be beneficial and to be profitable for our exporters.’’
